What's involved in Restringing?

1- Take patterns of bass strings and send off to get duplicated
2- Gauge all treble wire and a few tuning pins make notes of everything
3- De-string piano and pull out all tuning pins and send off bass strings for duplication
4- Pull the plate out of the piano, clean and paint
5- Scrape soundboard and bridges, then make any board or bridge repairs
6- Sand soundboard two steps replace decal and topcoat with clear
7- Paint graphite on the bridges and polish any plate hardware
8- Put plate back in and restring piano
9- Replace all the treble wire and bass strings
10- Pull up the tension of piano and bring up to pitch
11- Level and seat the strings at all termination points
12- Tune about five times in the shop
